”I think it’s weird you really liked the chord progressions of “Clusterfuck”, how they reminded you of soaring pop music AND also the brash minimalism of melodic punk/pop type guitar voicings- also- how the sentiment of the song is SO straight up and not hiding anything.
also the delivery is off the cuff as well as urgent which means to me anyway, it is very close to home for the songwriter and true or not, it paints a vivid emotional picture.
It reminds me of The Grifters from Memphis, long forgotten genius rock band, but not in anything but it’s delivery and essence.
Also, after many listens, it just inspires me to no end how honest and beautiful this song is.
It seems to be opening a door inside the singer as it is sung like it was paving the way through internal confusion and like it was true for the first time it was sung.
In essence it feels like a song about coming into your own and seeing things as they are.
I love it.”
